Festivals

We have a few mini-festivals at pubs and small venues each year, along with one or two larger ones at major local venues.

The Great British Beer Festival (GBBF) happens once a year in West London.

Great Welsh Beer Fesitval 2013

8th Jun 2013 - 9th Jun 2013

SELCAMRA are organising a group trip to this year’s Great Welsh Beer Fesitval in Cardiff on Saturday, 8th June.

This will be a weekend event based in a 17th century Welsh drovers cottage on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, in the village of Penderyn, within walking distance of one of the best real ale pubs in the park. The plan is to travel from Aberdare to Cardiff by train for the day on Saturday and Sunday will be a trip to the Rhymney Brewery and Big Pit Mining Museum at Blaenavon. On the Friday, there will be an excursion via the Forest of Dean to sample some cider, if anyone wants to go down earlier – the more the merrier!

The cottage belongs to Westminster Speleological Group, and SELCAMRA have exclusive use for the weekend. It sleeps 18 in alpine style bunks, and has camping available in the grounds. The price is £4.00 a night, under 16s are free. It is about a 4 hour drive from London and there are also public transport options.

If interested please email or talk to Andrew Sewell at any of our forthcoming events.
