Campaigning

The South East London CAMRA Website.

The very first meeting of the South East London Branch of Camra took place on 15th July 1974 at The Lord Derby in Plumstead ,SE18. This made 2004 our 30th Anniversary. I wonder if that small group of people had ever envisaged that the branch would still be going strong 30 years on. Well, we are! And still as enthusiastic as ever.

There are 10 CAMRA branches in Greater London, the South East London branch having the most members in its branch area. Current figures stand at around 1400 members in this area and rising.

This area covers all SE postcodes except those parts of SE19 and SE25 which fall in the Borough of Croydon.

We are blessed with a wealth of great pubs within the branch area and we try to visit as many as possible during the course of the year. But because of the huge area we have to cover, we may not get to your local as often as we would like. So please help us out and download and complete the Beer Quality form, these results play a major part in the selection of pubs for the Good Beer Guide. So come on, get visiting your local pubs and let us now how they are doing!

I could tell you all about the history and the aims of CAMRA but this all covered on the National CAMRA website:- Make sure you visit the National site regularly to keep up to date on current issues and campaigns.
