There is a two night-out branch excursion to Salisbury, on Thursday 1st and Friday 2nd April. The itinerary is as follows;
Thursday – Travel to Salisbury, a 1½ hour train ride from Waterloo. After booking into accommodation, in the early evening we will meet up with the local branch and go on a crawl in the historic town .
Friday – Lunch at a pub in the village of Downton (a 20 minute public bus trip from Salisbury) then a visit to the Downton / Hopback brewery.
In the evening we will be visiting some pubs in the village of Tisbury (including the 2010 Good Beer Guide listed Boot Inn) as recommended by the local Branch. Tisbury is a 20 minute train ride out of Salisbury.
Saturday – An outing to Stonehenge (36 minutes away by bus), return to Salisbury for lunch. Collect bags from hotel and return home.
All those coming are responsible for their own arrangements. The organisers (Jill and Julian) are staying at the centrally located King’s Arms Wetherspoon Lodge (in the 2010 Good Beer Guide) in Salisbury, at £59 a night.
It should be a great outing. If you are coming please confirm to selcamra2010springtrip [at] googlemail.com so you can be updated with information. The outing is open to all CAMRA members.
